When I first started Pink Nookie, I lived by Nipsey Hussle’s mantra: “All Money In, No Money Out.” Every aspect of my brand was built with my own two hands—literally. From creating these products to logos to designing labels, I taught myself everything because I believed that no one could understand my vision better than I did. Pink Nookie wasn’t just a brand; it was my baby, and I prided myself on being able to say that every detail had my personal touch.

But as Pink Nookie grew, so did the noise. Over the last year, I let people come into my space and convince me that I couldn’t do it all by myself anymore. They told me I needed a bigger team, that my original crew wasn’t capable of taking Pink Nookie to the next level. And honestly, for a while, I started to believe them. I saw myself as an opportunity for others, and that’s exactly how they treated me. I lost thousands of dollars to people who had no clue what they were doing. Every misstep, every failure—they chipped away at my confidence. I was ready to give up.

But then came Invest Fest.
